If you like a spot of betting, get yourselves down to the Wolverhampton Racecourse. The track prides itself on being Britain’s only floodlit all-weather horserace track, where racing takes place throughout the year. Alternatively, you can place a few bets at the local greyhound racetrack at Monmore Green Stadium. Either way you’re guaranteed a fun-filled day out.

Moseley Old Hall is a National Trust owned property in Wolverhampton dating back to Elizabethan times. The house boasts the claim to fame of once hiding and hence saving the life of Charles II when he took refuge in the house after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. Today visitors can take a stroll around the house, before venturing out to explore the pretty formal knot garden.

Wolverhampton is of course home to the famous Wolverhampton Wanderers, or The Wolves as they are affectionately known. Check out their website for details of forthcoming football matches at their home stadium, the Molineux Football Stadium. Outside of match days you can book a stadium tour to see behind the scenes, before having a spot of lunch at their restaurant overlooking the pitch.

Whilst staying in the area the Wolverhampton Art Gallery is well worth a look. Not only does it house a collection of classical paintings from Gainsborough and the likes but it also has an exceptional collection of pop art and new interactive exhibits.

For further entertainment find out what’s on at the Arena Theatre during your time in the area. This well loved theatre has given much pleasure to audiences over the years, with a wide variety of different productions from serious drama and comedy to dance, so offering something to suit all tastes.
